Is Tom Fury your real name?
This is the number one question. No, Tom Fury is a fictional character in the fantastic Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I’m a middle-aged guy in the U.S. and my name is not Tom.
Do you accept submissions?
Yes, submissions of images or text are welcome. Be sure that you are in compliance with Tumblr’s published terms of submission and let me know how (or if) you want attribution.
If your submission is blatantly outside of the normal scope of this blog, then I may or may not choose to post it. If your submission is explicit, pornographic, obscene, or hateful then it is not appropriate for this blog.
Do you follow back?
I prefer to follow back and I often do. I’ll check out the first 100 posts or so of your blog to see if any of them fall into the categories of items I might post myself, or if the blog is otherwise well-done and compelling. If most of the posts are pornographic or hateful (to my way of thinking), then I’ll probably not follow. If I detect that the blogger is under 18, I will definitely not follow.
Since I follow nearly two thousand blogs, I will occasionally unfollow a particular blog that posts quite prolifically, or that posts every single ask they receive. It’s not that I don’t care—it’s just that I can’t spare the dashboard space.
Are your posts your own work?
The great majority of what I post was created by other people, and I make considerable effort to locate and provide full attribution whenever I can.
Why do you post nudes?
I get this question from time to time. Usually, the question is posed in a form something like “I love your posts and pictures of ___, but why do you keep posting nudes? I don’t want to see that.”
I post images of humans because I am a human, and because I find humans to be beautiful. Unlike some people who take the time to send me anonymous messages, I simply do not find images of people in their natural state to be unwholesome, indecent, immoral, degrading, pornographic, licentious, sacrilegious, or anything else that could possibly be undesirable. I am sincerely saddened to know that some people hold such unhappy beliefs about their own bodies and the bodies of others. If you dislike such images, then perhaps it is best if you don’t follow this blog.
All of the images on this blog are intended to celebrate wonderful or powerful or important things. See the About and Threads pages to get a better understanding of this project’s aims and purposes.
